Situated to the east of Albany the Kalgan region is one of Australia's finest. Far from large cities and polluted sea lanes we enjoy a spectacular coastline, pristine beaches and National Parks protecting great natural biodiversity. The region also produces a wide selection of seafood and horticultural products.
The Kalgan Region stretches from the Eastern side of the King River, North to Chester Pass Road, East to Two Peoples Bay, Cape Vancouver and Nanarup.
Nanarup beach is a magnificent Southern Ocean beach with good beach fishing and a protected rock pool for safe swimming and snorkeling. Two People's Bay is 20km away and remains beautiful and as unspoilt as it was at the time of the famous dinner.which lead to it being called Two People's Bay.(see History:The French Influence) The Nature Reserve is famous for the preservation of some of our highly endangered animals.(Potoroo & Noisy Scrub Bird), and to the south Gull Rock reserve has recently been declared a National Park and is a fine example of our coastline and unique landscape. Gull Rock is a popular fishing place.
Overlooking King George Sound and Oyster Harbour, Mount Martin Botanical Park has a prime position for tourists to observe not only the diverse flora and fauna, but the magnificent southern coastline.
